The Bloomington Housing Authority (BHA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Beverly Calender-Anderson to its Board of Commissioners by Mayor Kerry Thomson.
A Chicago native, Calender-Anderson began her service with the City of Bloomington in 2006 as Director of the Safe and Civil City Program, where she focused on diversity, public safety education, and addressing community concerns. She later served as Director of the Community and Family Resources Department, providing leadership to a wide range of programs, commissions, and community initiatives.
In addition to her extensive public service, Calender-Anderson has served (and will continue to serve) on the Summit Hill Community Development Corporation Board of Directors, further demonstrating her commitment to housing and community development efforts.
“Beverly is a legend in our community, both personally and professionally,” said Mayor Kerry Thomson. “She has been a strong, compassionate leader and a tireless advocate for the people of Bloomington. We have all benefited from her many years of service to the City and its residents.” (1)
