Housing Programs

Bloomington Housing Authority offers rent subsidies or housing options to clients who qualify through a variety of different programs. Potential residents are encouraged to apply for housing that meets the needs of their household.

HCV (Section 8)

The BHA’s Housing Choice Voucher Program allows low-income families to rent quality housing in the private market via federal funds provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

RAD Housing

The Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) is a program of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) that seeks to preserve affordable housing. BHA manages three affordable housing communities: Crestmont, Walnut Woods, and Reverend Butler.

BHA offers resident programs designed to coordinate community services and resources to best serve families in need, and to assist clients with educational, employment or personal goals.
