May 13th saw the ribbon cutting for the Rev. Dr. Marvin Chandler Early Learning Center, a partnership between the Summit Hill Community Development Corporation and the South Central Community Action Program! This much-needed space provides early learning for infants and toddlers up to age 3 and affordable housing for our community. The center is named for Reverend Doctor Marvin Chandler, who is known in the community for being a civil rights activist, pilot, pastor, and jazz pianist. We were honored to have many of Rev. Dr. Chandler’s family in attendance to celebrate his legacy and even help us cut the ribbon. We are also thrilled to have a stunning mural by Kwazar Martin depicting Rev. Dr. Chandler on the north side of the property. Thank you to the many individuals and organizations who helped to make this center a reality! We especially wish to thank:
