Come work with the maintenance team at Bloomington Housing Authority! BHA has an important mission: providing safe, affordable housing to more than 2,500 households each year in Monroe County. Our Maintenance team plays a vital role in keeping our communities safe, functional, and welcoming.
We’re hiring two full-time Maintenance Technicians. These positions are entry-level, hands-on roles for someone who enjoys learning new skills, working with their hands, and being part of a team that makes a real difference. We work a 35-hour week (8 am to 4 pm).
Turnover Technician
This tech will help prepare apartments for new residents (cleaning, painting, trash removal, basic repairs) and also assist with general maintenance and minor repairs in occupied and vacant units.
Grounds Technician
This tech will focus mostly on maintaining the landscaping within our three communities, including mowing, weed-eating, applying weed control products, minor tree work, and snow removal. This role may also assist with general maintenance and minor repairs as needed.

Requirements
- Valid Indiana driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
- Ability to work a 35-hour work week and rotating on-call shifts (each crew member takes a week at a time)
- Must be bondable and authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must pass a drug test, background check and driving record check
Pay & Details
- Starting Range: $35,661.18 – $49,363.41 ($19.59 – $22.71)
