For Landlords

The Landlord Risk Mitigation Fund (LRMF) is a special program of the BHA that offers financial incentive & on-going support to landlords who provide housing opportunities to renters with housing barriers (credit issues, past eviction, legal challenges) or who want to explore renting to residents with Section 8 vouchers. Participating landlords receive a $2000 safety endorsement for reimbursement for any damages (including unpaid rent) beyond the initial deposit. This endorsement is good for up to 2 years and includes quarterly tenant check-ins from BHA staff.

For Renters (and Section 8 Clients)

Do you have barriers that make finding your own housing difficult? Do you need help finding a safe, affordable, and sanitary place to live? Are you a Section 8 voucher holder that found an affordable place but the landlord did not take section 8? If you answer yes to any of these questions, then you should join BHA’s Landlord Risk Mitigation Fund (LRMF) Program. Join our community of support where you’ll learn the do’s and don’ts of being a successful renter as well as learn to navigate the Bloomington rental market and gain the financial support and advocacy that will help you find (and keep) a place to call home.
